We are seeking an exceptional professional leader to become our new Director of Library and Learning Services. Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and as a key member of the University’s senior management team, you will be a key source of expert professional advice and provide strategic leadership of the service to support the teaching, learning and research success of our students and academics. We are at a point of transition as we seek to deliver change, reshape our service model and prioritise our strategic contribution in response to the needs of students and colleagues and the current challenges facing the higher education sector. As a university community, we have a strong sense of momentum and collective purpose to achieve both cultural and financial resilience.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate substantial professional library experience gained in a complex environment and significant achievements at senior management level. You will have current professional knowledge of developments and strategies in the delivery of library services, academic skills and digital learning within higher education, as well as exceptional leadership and management skills and a proven track record of implementing change, innovation, challenging current practice, and building positive colleague engagement and a service culture to achieve high performance. Of vital importance will be your commitment to the mission and values of the University.
