The Head of Housing Services will provide the operational lead and oversight in planning and effectively delivering housing and community safety services. They will ensure our customers are highly satisfied, our assets are protected, and customers and colleagues are safe.

You will contribute to leading and delivering on our customer service priorities in Thirteen’s Strategic Plan, while developing a values-led, high-performing, commercially driven culture, ensuring colleagues bring the best version of themselves to work and deliver great services to customers.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to oversee the delivery of our housing services, ensuring they comply with statutory and regulatory requirements while meeting performance targets and aspirations. Drive and lead the objectives for housing services, providing the highest quality standards, and ensuring excellent customer experience while keeping colleagues and customers safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive and lead the objectives for housing services, ensuring the highest quality standards and exceptional customer experience while prioritising safety for both colleagues and customers.
  • Health and Safety Management: Manage and support a cultural shift towards health and safety excellence, delivering policies and procedures to ensure customer safety, including safeguarding measures.
  • Operational Planning and Budgeting: Manage the annual operational plan and budget, ensuring cost management while driving efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively across customer services and the wider business to deliver outstanding service, actively incorporating feedback from tenants, customers, leaseholders, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Institute of Housing) or equivalent demonstrable work experience.
  • Proven strategic leadership experience within a housing context, including direct management of senior professionals and a customer-driven service approach.
  • Track record in performance management and driving improvements and efficiencies.
  • Strong customer focus with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with external stakeholders, customers, colleagues, and board members.
  • Well-developed business management skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer-based service.
  • Proficiency in programme and project management.
  • Capacity to lead and inspire colleagues at all levels, fostering commitment to Thirteen’s vision, values, and priorities.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and well-written reports on complex issues.
  • Confident, independent, energetic, and visible leadership style with effective decision-making abilities.
